About

Ninety minutes.

I'm Finn Fones — a designer on the Gold Coast working mostly in football, and increasingly for local business that wants the same consistency. Drag the clock to play the whole thing through. The minutes are a device, not dates.

The long version

I am Finn Fones, a graphic designer on the Gold Coast. I build social media template systems — mostly for football clubs in South East Queensland, and increasingly for local businesses that post the same kinds of thing every week and want it to look like one brand rather than eleven different people with a phone.

The problem I keep running into is not that clubs lack good photographs or good news. It is that the graphics get made by whoever is free on a Thursday night. One week the crest is stretched, the next it has been pulled off an old post at low resolution, and the fonts change between the under-13s and the first grade. Nobody is doing anything wrong. There is just no system, so every post starts from nothing.

What I supply is a set of layered Photoshop files drawn around a club's own crest, colours and typography — matchday, fixtures, starting eleven, full-time result, player of the match, player features, announcements, juniors, gameday promotion, big-game and general messaging. The design is locked. The names, scores, photographs and sponsors change. That means the person running the account is updating a template rather than designing a poster, which is the difference between a consistent feed and a good intention.

The work has run on Mudgeeraba Soccer Club, Broadbeach United, Olympic FC and the Gold Coast Knights, across NPL, metro and junior grades, and the same system now runs for businesses outside football. Everything is priced hourly rather than as a fixed package, because a junior club wanting three formats is a genuinely different job to a club running a full season across two squads — and if it takes fewer hours than estimated, it costs less.

There is no subscription and nothing to renew. On final payment the files are yours, including the editable sources, and if a new format is needed mid-season that is quoted as new work. Most of the clubs I work with are volunteer-run, and a system that quietly stops working the moment the person who set it up moves on is not much of a system.

If that sounds like what your club or business is missing, start a package — five short questions and you get a real number back, not a brochure. Or look at the gallery first.

Still early in the second half.

Everything above is one designer, working in layered Photoshop files so the people who post the work can keep posting it without me. If that is what your club or your business is missing, the clock is still running.
